The celebration of Corpus Christi can be best described in the words of Pope Benedict XVI, who said in 2005, “We bring Christ, under the sign of bread, onto the streets of our city. We entrust these streets, these homes, our daily life, to his goodness. May our streets be streets of Jesus! May our houses be homes for him and with him! May our life every day be penetrated by his presence.” As we continue to join the Universal Church to focus on the Eucharistic Revival, you will be hearing and seeing more activities on the True Presence of the Body and the Blood of Jesus. Please consider joining us during our times for Eucharistic Adoration to listen and pray with Jesus. Remember to give Him your adoration, praise, thanksgiving, and supplication. Do not try to take on your daily struggles and victories without God!
On June 11th, the Corpus Christi procession and celebration were a success because of many hands and participants. A few notes of thanks to those who helped create this great event beginning with God for a great sunny day: Father Joe, who helped coordinate so many people to allow the procession to run smoothly, and the City of Monongahela with the permission to process down Main Street with a police presence under the guidance of Mayor Greg. We also thank the many people who helped prepare for the celebration of prayer and fellowship in the Parish Park, to the Choir who led us all in song and praise, to those who assisted as Cross and Candle bearers, to the Knight of Columbus who carried the Canopy in the Procession and all who joined us! A Special Thank You to Lee Supply Company for the use of their Steeler bus and the driver Bill Giordanengo. Thanks to one and all!
